Clam Chowder
This is my dad’s recipe. So many great memories of dad chopping, dicing and sizzling in our kitchen back in the Soo. Miss you dad.
Ingredients
- 5 med potatoes (diced)
- 1 large carrot (chopped)
- 3 med onions (chopped)
- 1 lb bacon (chopped)
- 4 tbsp butter
- 4 tbsp flour
- 4 c milk
- 2 cans baby clams (- reserve juice)
- salt & pepper
Instructions
- Boil potatoes and carrots until tender.
- Fry onion with bacon, drain.
- In large pot, melt butter, add flour, bring to a boil and cook until golden.
- Slowly whisk in milk.
- Add potatoes/carrots, bacon/onion and clams and juice.
- Season with salt and pepper.
