BBQ Ribs
BBQ Back Ribs
Fall off the bone ribs with homemade Dry Rub rand BBQ Sauce recipes
Ingredients
- 1 rack pork back ribs
- 1 lemon, juiced
- ½ c dry rub
- ½ c bbq sauce
Dry Rub
- ½ c brown sugar
- 4 tsp chili powder
- 4 tsp sweet paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp dry mustard
- 2 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp pepper
BBQ Sauce
- 4 tsp olive oil
- 1 c onion (finely diced)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 c cider vinegar
- 1 c water
- 1 c ketchup
- 1 c brown sugar
- 4 tbsp molasses
- 4 tbsp spicy mustard
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 4 tsp chili powder
Instructions
- Combine dry rub ingredients and set aside.
- Sauté onion and garlic over medium-high heat for 2 minutes.
- Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and cook uncovered for 25 minutes, stirring occasionally. Sauce will thicken as it cools.
Ribs
- Preheat oven to 300F
- Remove excess fat from ribs: with a sharp knife lift and grab the silver skin with a paper towel and pull.
- Cut ribs into individual pieces and check for end bone splinters
- Rub ribs all over with lemon juice.
- Coat ribs with dry rub. Place meat side down in large baking pan and cover tightly with foil, shiny side out.
- Bake in oven for 2 ½ hours.
- Remove from oven and pour off liquid.
- Coat ribs with bbq sauce.
- Grill: Place ribs on grill, basting and turning for about 10 minutes.
Oven: Set oven to broil and return ribs to oven, and baste and broil about 5 minutes per side, watching carefully so as not to burn.
